Have you noticed yourself
experiencing unpleasant emotions since some unpleasant event, or do you
regularly have irrational thoughts? Perhaps this experience was
moderately distressing (e.g. embarrassed by manager in front of work
colleagues), or extremely upsetting (e.g. loss of a loved one – human or pet;
road traffic accident; assault). Do you ever
find that in certain situations you always get upset (e.g. in lifts; when
confronted by a dog; when you haven’t washed your hands)? Do you ever feel you are out of control?

You may think that you don’t have a
recognised psychological condition, like those above, but you find that your
beliefs about yourself hold you back from performing at a high level in an
important area of your life (e.g. business, sport, musical performance). (More information)
You may have suffered as a
result of criminal injury or negligence by a third party. If so, your
psychological adjustment is a factor which should be considered in any
litigation. I provide consultation with
lawyers and assessment for court reports.
These can be accepted by phone
or email. You can self-refer or be referred by your GP or Occupational Health
Service. If you are seen under PPP
medical insurance, a referral letter from a PPP ‘recognised’ Psychiatrist will
be required.
Please seek authorisation for
psychological treatment from your private medical insurance scheme as I would
require confirmation at our first appointment.
